If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or a crisis, immediate, confidential help is available:

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 9-8-8 (English & Spanish, 24/7) to reach a trained counselor for mental health emergencies or suicidal thoughts. 

  • 2-1-1 / Treasure Coast Helpline: Dial 2-1-1 or text your zip code to 898211 to access a directory of local health, mental health, and community resources available 24/7.

  • Crisis Text Line: Text "HOME" to 741741 for 24/7 free, confidential text-based crisis support. 

  • Veterans Crisis Line: Dial 9-8-8 and press 1 (or text 838255) for immediate help for military veterans and their families.

For ongoing therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and case management, the following local providers service the area:
 

  • New Horizons of the Treasure Coast: Located at 4500 W Midway Rd, Fort Pierce, FL (with regional satellite resources), this community mental health center offers outpatient services, psychiatric evaluations, and a 24/7 crisis line at (772) 468-5600. 

  • Legacy Behavioral Health Center: Provides comprehensive behavioral and psychological services (including outpatient therapy and case management) with locations in Port St. Lucie. You can reach their main office at (888) 975-3422.

  • NAMI Treasure Coast: The local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness provides free support groups, education, and family programs. 

  • SafeSpace: Provides domestic violence advocacy, support groups, and emergency shelter. Reach their hotline at (772) 288-7023.

For individuals requiring intensive psychiatric stabilization or inpatient addiction treatment:

  • Port St. Lucie Hospital: Located at 2550 SE Walton Rd, Port St. Lucie, FL, this facility specializes in adult inpatient mental health, acute psychiatric care, and substance use treatment. Call (772) 335-0400 to discuss admissions.

  • Coral Shores Behavioral Health: Located nearby at 1780 SE Hillmoor Dr, Stuart, FL (serving the surrounding Treasure Coast), this hospital offers inpatient behavioral health and psychiatric services. Call (772) 403-4000.
